The Food Allergy Support Group of Minnesota provides a variety of programs and services to our members and to the general public. Programs are focused on three areas: Support, Awareness, and Education. SupportThe main goal of our organization is to support individuals and families living with food allergies. That support is provided through allergy-safe family outings, our Lending Library, Buddy Program, and group meetings involving discussions and presentations. In 2010 we launched the Y.E.S. (Youth Empowered by Support) program for kids with food allergies. We also collect allergy-friendly foods at events throughout the year to donate to CEAP food shelves. AwarenessAnother goal of FASGMN is to increase food allergy awareness in schools and other parts of our community. We increase awareness through our Food Allergy Resource Fair, media interviews, and participation in local conferences involving booth information and presentations. EducationA large part of FASGMN’s efforts are aimed at the education of others in food allergy management. This goal is accomplished through presentations by our Speakers’ Bureau, the development of educational webinars and in-person workshops, our two newsletters, and our interactive website that reaches tens of thousands of individuals worldwide.
