August Y.E.S. Event Recap

On Saturday, August 14, FASGMN hosted the second event for our new kids' support program, Y.E.S. (Youth Empowered by Support).
The event was held at the Science Museum of Minnesota in St. Paul. Twenty-two participating kids enjoyed small group discussions led by FASGMN YES committee members, and exciting experiments directed by Science Museum staff members. Each attendee received a free wristband to explore the museum exhibits with their family!

"What a fun way to spend the day! The kids and I had a great time and a great experience! This was our first Y.E.S. event and I was very impressed. The kids loved it and those that ran it and helped were awesome!"   -Kate from Mankato

The purpose of this new program is to facilitate connections between elementary-age kids with food allergies. Through fun, social outings and events, they can have real-life experiences as they learn to manage their food allergies. By making connections with other kids, participants can learn that there are other kids struggling with similar issues.
